Our story

It started with a Christmas party

Long before Give A Little Christmas had a name, Glenn and Dottie Tubb were already Santa and Mrs. Claus. In 2012 Glenn had an idea: throw a Christmas party and make it count for kids who might not have much under the tree. Krys Midgett and Olivia West Hedges ran with it, and that first Christmas, 50 children opened gifts picked just for them.

Glenn has since passed, but his idea is still the heart of everything we do. Kids write letters to Santa, and we give each child four to five gifts, doing our best to make sure at least one comes straight from that letter.

For a few years, Christmas lived wherever we could find room. From 2019 through 2022, U Stor It donated storage units to hold every toy. In 2023 we moved into Santa's Workshop in Mt. Juliet, a little building on the Midgett family farm where donated toys, clothes, books and wrapping paper are kept and sorted all year long.

None of it happens without our neighbors. Local businesses host collection boxes, families sponsor families, and volunteers of all ages fill gift bags every December. In 2025 both of our local chambers recognized that work: the Wilson County Chamber of Commerce honored Give A Little Christmas with its Non-Profit of Excellence Award, and the Mt. Juliet Chamber presented Krys with its Community Enhancement Award of the Year.

This December is our 15th Christmas. More than 8,000 kids later, we're still a small local charity serving Middle Tennessee with a focus in Wilson County, and still doing what Glenn started: spreading Christmas cheer all through the year.
